BIOGRAPHY:
Ron Helart is a Senior Manager at Symantec Corporation, with a primary focus on developing and documenting recovery strategies and plans for the business units across the globe. Ron also currently participates in the Study Group of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC) to the President on pandemic planning.
Ron joined Symantec in 2006 bringing 20 years of direct experience in the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery industry. Prior to Symantec, Ron worked for the consulting divisions at both Comdisco and SunGard providing business continuity/disaster recovery consulting for Fortune 500 clients. Ron’s client engagements included Federal Communications Commission, First Data Corporation, Robert Half, Intl., Starbucks, State Farm Insurance, Blue Cross of Idaho, Invesco Funds Group and many other clients across multiple industries.
Prior positions included President of Data Assurance Corporation. DAC provided hot site services and consulting to mid-range customers across the U.S. Ron was instrumental in growing DAC from an initial customer base of 11 subscribers to over 650 before SunGard acquired the firm. He was initially tasked with building the technology offerings and the associated disaster recovery test programs for all DAC clients and later elevated to President of the company.
Ron has over twenty five years experience in the complete Business Continuity Management lifecycle including CBCI and PMP certifications.
