    Emergency Management Specialist, El Paso County Health - Colorado Springs, Colorado

    Serves within the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) Program to support program priorities, goals, and the mission and vision of El Paso County Public Health. Utilizing emergency planning principles and the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (PHEP) capabilities as a framework, this position develops and maintains all-hazards emergency plans through inclusive emergency management practices and a whole community approach. As the lead agency for Emergency Support Function-8 (ESF-8), this position works closely with the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPROEM) and community partners to conduct planning, training, exercise, and response activities within El Paso County. Staffs the Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) during emergencies. As part of the South-Central All-Hazards Region, the EM Specialist participates in the collaboration, development, and implementation of regional planning, training, and exercise activities, including ongoing coordination and support to regional partners within the five-county region. Position requires on-call rotation for response activities as they occur and may require work outside of normal business hours.
