Resilience Planning with the Colorado Resiliency Office (CRO)​
The Colorado Resiliency Office (CRO), part of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Division of Local Government, helps communities understand the shocks and stresses they face, make connections across sectors to leverage resources and ideas, develop solutions that address multiple challenges, and build adaptability and preparedness into plans. We coordinate and collaborate across State agencies and with local, state, federal, private, and non-governmental partners to ensure that Colorado communities are resilient to disruptions and adapt to changing environmental, social, and economic conditions.
 
Presenters Julia Masters and Shayle Sabo will share information on CRO's resilience planning - from microgrid grant programs, rural prosperity efforts, and the Colorado Resilience Framework - the newly released statewide plan to help Colorado become stronger and more prepared for future challenges and risks.
Meet the Speakers: Julia Masters & Shayle Sabo​
Julia Masters is the Program Manager for the Microgrids for Community Resilience grant program, managed by the State of Colorado’s Colorado Resiliency Office. She supports energy resilience efforts throughout the state, through coordination of utilities, local government, and community needs.  She has a B.A. from University of Michigan and an M.A. in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy from Tufts University.
Shayle Sabo is the Resiliency Program Manager for the Colorado Resiliency Office. Shayle began her career by receiving a Master of Science degree in Disaster Resilience Leadership from Tulane University in New Orleans and has a background in Colorado local level emergency management where she spent 7 years working with Larimer County Office of Emergency Management. In her current role, she supports the integration of resilience action into State-level efforts through coordination and technical assistance with state agencies to prepare Colorado for current and future disruptions and challenges.
