Rampart Search and Rescue
ACP Chapter Meeting June 2019

The June meeting of the CRMC ACP chapter proved highly appropriate to the state of Colorado!  David Haskin, Chief of the Rampart Search and Rescue team, discussed ways to stay safe in all conditions and activities we can expect this year.
David covered the following topics:
  • On and off the job –Your safety is #1
  • Safety when with family (i.e., traveling, hiking, boating, etc.)
  • Winter Activities – Driving, weather issues (i.e., blizzards, road closures)
  • Summer Activities – Hiking, biking, weather storms (i.e., floods, tornados)
  • Check In, Go kits, Rail Road Crossings, Severe Weather
  • Personal Communications (i.e., Cell Phone, GMRS, FRS, CB)
  • Weather – La Niña / El Niño (What's the difference?)

After the presentation and an interesting question and answer session, David led the group on a tour of the Adams County Sheriff's facility and operations.
